CWA & Parent Shared
Student Growth Goal
"Between September 2026 and May 2027, 90% of CWA's students will demonstrate measurable academic and social growth through participation in bimonthly advising sessions as defined by the school. In addition, 86.5% of CWA's students guardians or advocates will engage in monthly advising sessions, reflecting the school's commitment to increasing family engagement and strengthening student support."
Advising sessions are defined by CWA as meetings organized by a staff advisor in which the student, parent or guardian, and advisor are typically present. These meetings occur synchronously, either in person or via Google Meet, and focus on academic progress, goal attainment, and student support planning.
Rationale
CWA's advisory model is foundational to our blended learning approach. Regular communication between students, families, and advisors allows us to monitor academic progress, establish personalized goals, identify barriers, and provide timely interventions.
Increasing student and guardian participation strengthens relationships, promotes accountability, and supports our broader school improvement priorities, including regular attendance, course completion, graduation rates, and student achievement.
