Welcome
I have had the privilege of serving as the Director of Clackamas Web Academy (CWA) since 2007, and this year marks my 28th year as a public educator. I began my career as a social studies teacher and coach at Rex Putnam High School, where my experiences working with students from diverse backgrounds helped shape my belief that schools are most successful when students are known, supported, challenged, and provided multiple pathways to success.

At CWA, I am committed to combining the flexibility of online learning with strong relationships, meaningful in-person experiences, and opportunities that prepare students for life beyond high school. I hold a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Portland State University and am currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership at PSU, with research focused on family engagement and belonging in blended learning.

Outside of CWA, my family is an incredibly important part of my life. I have been married to my lovely wife, Kimberly, for 26 years, and we are proud parents of two children, Connor and Sydney, who both attended the University of Oregon. My daughter is also a member of the UO Cheer Team, so our family has plenty of Duck pride. I enjoy staying connected to high school athletics by serving as a basketball referee with the Portland Basketball Officials Association and a baseball umpire with the Portland Baseball Umpires Association. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, fishing, spending time with my family, and attending Oregon football games.
