CWA’s Celebrations of Learning

CWA  students participated in our first semester Celebrations of Learning during the months of December and January. Students were eager to share their learning with their families, peers, and teachers and were so proud of their work. It was fun to visit students’ exhibits  and hear them share their knowledge with such confidence and expertise. Thank you to all who came to support our students, we had over 500 students, family, and community members in attendance.

Supply Drive

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to our students and families that donated  non-perishable food, toiletries, and warm clothes to our winter supply drive. We collected over 1,156 items this year that our leadership students delivered to the Wichita Center. These items directly impact and support our very own North Clackamas families, great job everyone!

Elementary Spirit Week

CWA Elementary students enjoyed Spirit Week the last week of December, dressing up for Twin Tuesday, Wacky Wednesday, and Cozy Clothes Friday. Students had a lot of fun creating unique outfits and showing their school spirit!

YTA Students Making a Difference in our Communities

Our Youth Take Action students are making a huge difference in our communities, here are a few of the amazing places and ways they are volunteering their time:

  • AllPaws Welcome - Walking dogs and pet sitting and basic dog training

  • Wichita Center - Organizing and restocking the food pantry and supplies for families in our community

  • Mentor at Sunnyside Elementary - Working with 4th grade students to support them emotionally and academically

  • Partners for Healthy Students - Making cards for children in the hospital and setting up donations for families in need

  • Rose City Rollers - Coaching kids ages 7 - 12, helping them grow, develop, make friends and thrive in an inclusive and supportive environment

Thank you students for the work you are doing to make our communities a better place, we appreciate you!

YTA-Winter Blitz and Blanchet House

Winter Blitz is an event that the non-profit, "Partners for Healthy Students" puts on in coordination with our schools in North Clackamas. CWA students volunteered both on Friday night organizing donated items and setting up, as well as all day Saturday working with families connecting them with supplies.

Blanchet House provides care and hope to community members experiencing homelessness. CWA students organized Care Kits containing essential relief items for those living outdoors in challenging conditions.

Thank you CWA YTA students and counselors for your care and kindness in our community!

Bob's Red Mill Update

Clackamas Web Academy would like to share an update on our exploration of a future permanent home.
CWA has been under contract for approximately 120 days related to the potential purchase of the former Bob’s Red Mill property in Milwaukie. This due diligence process allows the school to carefully evaluate whether the site is a strong long-term fit for our students, families, and programs.
As part of this work, we have been actively engaging with local leaders and the surrounding community. These efforts have included meeting with the Mayor of Milwaukie, connecting with the Lake Road Homeowners Association, and submitting a temporary land use application to the City of Milwaukie. Because the property is currently zoned for business use, this application is an important step in determining whether it can be used as a nonprofit public school.
The City’s review process, which includes community input, may take several more months. No final decisions have been made, and CWA remains committed to moving forward thoughtfully, transparently, and in close partnership with our community.
We will continue to share updates as this process moves forward. Thank you for your continued support of Clackamas Web Academy and our long-term vision to remain rooted in the community we serve.
